A processed photo I took with my phone using a filter.

There wasn't a super noticeable difference at first but I do think it reduced some flare. Earthshine is cool too

Hardly makes a difference. Very dissapointed.
Review by Nik Smeltzer on April 30, 2018
I don't think this made anything like the difference it should have done. I attach it to my scope (Celestron Nexstar 102) and it hardly makes any difference to the brightness of the moon. In percentage terms, it seems to dull the full moon by maybe 10% but it is still blindingly bright and for £9, it feels like a waste of money.

That said, I'm new to astronomy. Maybe my expectations are not what yours would be.

      A must have!

A must have for Moon observation, which will really appear way too bright without. If you've got a large aperture telescope, this is a must-have. You can also use it for planet gazing, i.e. Jupiter.

Great price and really helps to remove the brightness without losing detail.
Comes in a near box. As soon as you open the box you can see that it's a neatly made product.

      Simple little thing, but essential
Review by Peter Lee on February 2, 2012
First impressions aren't good... The filter arrives in a padded envelope, inside which there is a flattened plain white box featuring a Celestron label, containing a ziploc plastic bag with the filter within. The delivery note advises that this is "eco packaging", and to be fair the filter itself is undamaged.

Your money buys you a small plastic disc, an opaque core surrounded by a black border with the word "moon" on one side. The rear of the disc has screw threads, and what you have to do...
